Northside Park
Another View of Our Island
North Ocean City, 125-127th Street
Too much salt in your hair? Got sand in your shoes? Spend a day at the park...
There’s yet more to Ocean City Maryland than our endless ocean shoreline offering never-ceasing surf, sandy beach and infinite horizon...much more! One of our favorite places - a getaway indeed, is Northside Park.
Located just off Coastal Highway, on 125th Street and the Bay...Assawoman Bay - (sometimes termed Big Assawoman, actually a lagoon sited between OC Maryland and mainland Delaware), Northside Park awaits your pleasure!
Home to the Ocean City Recreation and Parks Department Administrative offices, this popular park consists of a 58-acre complex presenting a myriad of recreational opportunities - something for everyone. There are three lighted softball/baseball fields, a lighted soccer field, multipurpose field, a fishing lagoon (State of Maryland Fishing license required), a footbridge, concession stands, two playgrounds, picnic area, two piers, a gazebo, walking/jogging paths, and a large (14,200 sq. ft.) building housing a gymnasium, kitchen, community room, conference room, patio, and sitting areas. In addition, a Sports Center, a 21,000 sq. ft., multi-sport arena is but a few steps beyond.
The above description of the Northside Park facility is but a map - the Park is lovely - a calm respite from the intensity of the summertime beach and boardwalk. During the summer season, many appealing activities take place; regular Sundaes in the Park - where live performances compete with the delight of making your own ice cream sundae on a summertime Sunday afternoon. Annual events such as ART'S ALIVE - a top-end, Arts & Crafts show and the famed, month-long, WINTERFEST OF LIGHTS are all based at Northside...
